Hi, I’m Briana, Bri, for short. I am a proud Latina woman, daughter of Cuban immigrants, born and raised in Queens, NYC. I currently reside in San Diego with my fiancé.
I've been vegan for five years, and since then, my love of food has grown by leaps and bounds. I have always loved eating but going vegan opened up a whole new world of flavors and dishes.
My grandmother and father heavily influenced my love for food. In my childhood home, a temple of culinary knowledge, I learned everything I now know about cooking.
My grandmother and father would go into the kitchen and whip up a sensational meal with barely any ingredients, no measurements, just a keen sense of smell and taste to guide them. I was exposed to different perspectives on how to make food. Learning from my grandmother and father has helped me be unique in the kitchen. They taught me not to be scared to go into the kitchen. A kitchen is a sanctuary for creativity and adventure.
Home-cooked food is where culture is created and new traditions are formed. I like to think of food as equal parts love and equal parts tradition. Food is a window into our cultures and celebrations and a way we can express our unique, vibrant personalities.
My love language is food. Whether I am receiving it or making it for others, I show my love the only way I know how is through cooking. Now I share with you adventures in my kitchen.
Peace,
Bri.
